After talking with my CT about the students using doodle tool, she thought it would possibly be easier for the students to record their answers using a microphone. So, that was the plan, however when we were in the classroom and the students tried recording, it didn't work, even though I had tested the mics before the lesson. Their voices did not come up on the voicethread. We tried later in the week and the next week and it did not work (there might have been something wrong with the computers.) I was unable to try and use the computer lab computers because there was testing going on in there when I was at Webb.
What worked WELL, was the PowerPoint part of the VoiceThread. I went through the slides like I would a PowerPoint. However, what I might do differently next time is use PowerPoint instead of VoiceThread for the beginning part, because it would have helped me to be able to move pictures around and put them in the correct order. And if I had to teach this lesson over, I might have let the students use the doodle instead of the microphones. Then we could of at least seen their work.
My VoiceThread
Your Challenge:
"How would you enhance this voicethread interactive activity through vertical or horizontal spiraling currciulum?"
"In what other ways would you use VoiceThread in the classroom?"

TIE Lesson Plan
For my TIE blog 1, I am planning on doing my math lesson over first, next and last. I would start by reading the students a book on the order of things from first, next and last and then we will go over a powerpoint that I put on VoiceThread. The students will then work on a worksheet that deals with first, next and last and I will choose one student from each table to record their answers on VoiceThread using doodle and writing an F for first, an N for next and an L for last.

Multiple Intelligences
VERBAL/LINGUISTIC: The teacher will ask questions and have the
students answer them.
LOGICAL/MATHEMATICAL: The students will be ordering pictures using
the terms, first, next and last.
SPACIAL/VISUAL: The students will use Voice Thread to look at
pictures and decide which order they go in, along with a handout that I will
give them.
MUSICAL: Sing song to “My Fair Lady” rhythm
BODILY/KINESTHETIC: The students will use their hands to put three different pictures in order on a mat they are given.
INTERPERSONAL: The students will work as a group to decide
which order their pictures go in.
INTRAPERSONAL: The students will put in order certain tasks
that are on the handout that I give them
NATURALIST: The students will be writing the terms first,
next and last under pictures to show, which of the three pictures comes first,
next and last. A couple of the pictures
have to do with building a house and growing an apple tree.
HOTS
"Who can tell me the difference between first and last?"
"Why is it important to know what first, next and last mean?"
"Why is order important?"
VT Question:
"Which picture is first, which picture is next and which picture is last?"

Voice Thread...
Today, we created a Voice Thread titled, "Life Coping Skills 101!" We had to work with three to four other PSTs and I worked with Mindy, Gabby and Christina. Our first picture was a picture of my dog, Hurley, and I and the caption says, "Get a friend!" The other PSTs wrote comments on my picture.
The second frame was added by Gabby, and it had short quotes that could help remind people what they need to do to help cope with different things in their lives. Example: "Go for long walks," "indulge in hots baths," "count your blessings," "just let go," etc.
The third frame we have is a picture that Mindy added. She cut open a pepper and it had a smile in the middle of it. The rest of us PSTs added comments to her frame. I added, "Cooking...it can make you smile." And Gabby added a video comment to this frame.

Technology Integration Experience (TIE) Thoughts
I really liked the "I am thankful for..." voicethread, because we saw the student's pictures and then we heard them say what they are thankful for. I am a PST in a kindergarten class, and I think this would be a great activity to get the students involved with technology in a simple, yet fun way.
Another voicethread that I liked was the one where the students broke up into groups and came up with their own way to solve the math problem. I remember when I was a student and I always like writing on the white board or anything that made me feel like the teacher. So giving students something they can explore with and do on their own would be fun for them!
